I have a confession: I haven’t been feeling too sexy lately.
The last month has put me through the ringer: going back to a long-distance relationship, moving, having a roommate again, starting a new job, readjusting my schedule, dealing with an unexpected death, last minute travel, etc. I’m not gonna lie – its zapped me. My energy totally nose-dived.
Why am I telling you this? Because I want to give you my all each and every week. And this week I’ve got nothing left to give.
So I could give you something less than sensational. Or, I could take my own advice that I’ve shared with you so many times and
Make time for self-care.
Yes, make time. Because otherwise it won’t just appears. As scary as it sounds to do this, that’s what I’m choosing. But I also want you to do the same. Promise me that today you’ll spend just five minutes taking care of you. Maybe you’ll really, you know, “do” you…or maybe you’ll let yourself daydream, take a bath, walk in nature, cuddle your partner…
Saying ‘no’ is ok, especially if it means saying ‘yes’ to what you really need.
Me? I’m going to curl up with a good book, a cup of tea, and the kitty I now share a home with. On Saturday I’m going to dance my heart out at a special Zumba class and indulge in a decadent breakfast afterwards. And Sunday I’m going to take my time at the farmers’ market, thoroughly experiencing my visit rather than rushing around like usual.
